Budding chef

I'm not sure if you're aware....but...I LOVE the food network. Mom and Dad often let me watch a little TV in the afternoon. It used to be that I'd watch a little Thomas the Train, Backyardigans or some other age-appropriate TV (usually DVD). BUT...now I'm hooked on the food network (I'll never tell how I came to know it was on channel 'four-four'...it's a secret. Drives Mom and Dad nuts that they don't know how I discovered it. hee hee). Anyhow...I love to put on cooking shows for Mom and Dad (and anyone else who will listen). Recently, I've taken to grilling--because it's a great way to get "added flavor". I didn't have a grill so Mom came up with a great idea and voila--an indoor grill. Please note how organized I am...(see tools under the grill, as well as the fish I have prepared)...oh yeah...I'm going to be on Hell's Kitchen some day. Oops....don't let Mom and Dad know I'm watching TV after bed time too. Shhhhhhhh.....

Campin' in Shirley

Why the rain boots you ask? Grammie and Grampie had a full house, so me, Mom and Dad camped out in the backyard! Had a blast...

Gramps

So, I'm totally going out of order....but...that's what happens when you're way behind (Hey--time flies when you're having fun!). My Gramps came all the way from North Dakota for a visit...and we had a blast. Tractor ridin', bedtime stories and LOTS of hooks, and double hooks. If you don't know about hooks...just ask my Gramps, he'll tell you all about them.

Summer Break.

Another great vacation at Hermit Island!! We lucked out with GREAT weather and GREAT company (Auntie Erica, Uncle Tate, and "my" Denali and Lylah).

My first "moderate" hike: Great Head in Acadia

After my night with Papa & Nanny, Mom and Dad came and picked me up and we headed to Acadia--it was a warm sunny day in Maine--you have to soak it up when you can! We packed a picnic lunch and zipped to Sand Beach (my favorite place) and then headed for the rocks at the end of the beach for a nice hike. I listened, followed directions and didn't fall off the cliff. Whew! Guess that means I'll get to go again sometime. The little man is growing up.

When the cats are away, the mice will play...

Why the head gear you ask????

To block out the noise from the lawnmower while I raced Papa of course!!!

Mom and Dad went out for a night on the town...and I got to hang with Papa and Nanny. Overnight. Oh yeah! You see, at P&N's house, we "break the rules just a little bit"...I think I like this. Something tells me Mom and Dad are going to be ok with it too...

Cousin Love

A few weekends ago we spent the weekend with Denali & Lylah and had a ball! Lylah was content to ride and I was THRILLED to drive! :-)

Old man trapped in a little guy's body...

At my school we have all kinds of different 'spirit days', last month we had SILLY DAY...I had my shirt on backwards, a pair of shorts on top of my pants and then Mom grabbed my clip-on tie and we were good to go. I had a blast and decided I liked dressing like Dad, well--the tie anyway (Dad doesn't wear his clothes backwards!). For the next week I wore my tie everyday...and I must say, I was lookin' GOOD. The funny part is that I wore the tie all day at school but managed to keep it clean. Mom & Dad were impressed. One morning at school Mommy asked Miss Sharon about how I was able to keep it clean (she was convinced that I took the tie off during the day). When I ate with it on at school, I had one of my teachers tuck my tie into my shirt or flip it over my shoulder like Daddy does. During week two, however, Mom heard me announce to one of my friends "NO...I'M the DADDY...I'M the ADULT--I'm the on in the tie". UH-OH. Sure enough, as M&D were tucking me into bed that night Mommy announced she found out how I keep the tie clean and Dad took a deep breath and said, "yeah, um about the tie..." My teachers said I can't wear my tie to school for a while because I kept telling them that I was the adult and they needed to show me some respect. OOPS....ah well, it was fun while it lasted.

Spring Fair

Finally....into spring! Mom and I went to the BangorY's spring fair and had a blast! We flew down the super slide, I raced in the obstacle course about 10 times, back to the slide, flew a rocket and even rode in the "dragon boat" BY MYSELF! Note for next year--go on bracelet day when you pay one price and ride as much as you want!

A Day in the Life....

Bug boy, bug boy here to save the day!!! ;-) In case I've never mentioned it before, I'm a HUGE fan of the Backyardigans....

Valentines Day

As you can see...we're quite behind on my blog. BUT...Mom couldn't pass up these pictures of me hard at work on the Valentines for my classmates. I DID THEM ALL BY MYSELF. SEE....

I'm fast in any kind of shoe...

I wasn't too sure about my snowshoes last year, but this year is a whole different story. I LOVE to zip around in the woods (I'm quite skilled too!).

Training 'sticks

Hey...check me out...I'm eating with chopsticks! Aren't I cool? They're hinged at the top to make it a little easier to use. Soon I'll be better than Daddy ;-0 Of course...don't ask how the whole peas thing went. There's a reason they eat more pea pods than itty bitty peas in Japan!

Slinky: Going, going, going...SPRONG.

I'm not exactly sure why Mom was mumbling something about slinkies & preschoolers not being a good mix....????

First letter to Santa...

OK...Mom's REALLY slacking this time. No worries folks...I'm learning to write so I won't need to rely on my slacker (yet wonderful) Mom to update my blog for much longer! I wrote my first letter to Santa this year...All the kids around me had really long lists, but mine was short and sweet. All I asked for was SPENCER the train. Since it's now almost February...I suppose I won't be ruining any surprises when I tell you that my letter reached Santa and he must have thought I had a good year because he brought me exactly what I wanted most! That Santa is a great guy!
