Souper Slurp

I just have to say...The bowl with a straw is a great invention! I love to eat vegetable soup (and of course Mama & Daddy love for me to eat it too). I'm skilled enough to eat the chunks with my spoon, but the broth is a bit tricky. This makes my life SO much more easy. I'm all about easy--I've got enough on my plate without figuring out how to get my hands to cooperate so I can eat lunch and get on with my day!! And Mama loves that clean up is a breeze now! If you haven't tried these yet--you should. Works great for cereal too!

Big Boy Bed

After the excitement of my birthday celebration wore off (about a day and a half later, to be exact) I decided my life needed some spicing up-I'm a big boy, afterall. So, during my nap I climbed out of my crib. I did it so silently that Mama and Daddy didn't even hear me get out. They didn't know I was on the loose until I called for help with the door. They both panicked and wondered aloud what to do. Mama asked me to show her how I got out...she must not have liked what she saw b/c I was moved into my big boy bed the very next day! I stayed in bed all night but nap times have been a bit more challenging to me because I can see my toys and books and they are very tempting. Mama and Daddy bought a video monitor and that's worked out well because now I know they're keeping a close eye on me...so I stay in bed like a BIG boy--even during naptime! My new Elmo book helps too (Thanks Roni & Ness!)

Birthday Boy

Turning 2 was quite a celebration for me! On my actual birthday we made OWL COOKIES. The next day was Thanksgiving...we had most of the family together for dinner and 'partied' after and had a blast. Then a few days later Mama invited my two best friends over for a playgroup party. We played, made our own pizza and had cupcakes (a tower of them in my cool new tonka truck). I wasn't quite ready to say 'buh buy' to my birthday just yet...so for the next few nights Mama and Daddy would load a single cupcake in the truck, light the candle and sing "Happy Birthday" to me (and I had the same look of delight on my face each time). These pictures are from my last cupcake. I tried to get them to serve me a "candle breakfast" the next morning but they said I have to wait until next year!

Monkey on my back

Hmmm...What to do on a lazy Saturday morning? I know...gear up for hanging out with Daddy in his [unheated] man room...while getting used to my new monkey-on-my back CHILD LEASH. Yep, you read correctly. Mama and Daddy have hit rock bottom and bought me a leash. They figure my safety is more important than their pride. Ha ha! Good thing is that currently I think it is cool to have a monkey on my back and for them to hold my tail. Wonder how long this will be fun?

Don't bother me, I'm reading...

Auntie Melis came for a visit at the end of October and we had a blast!! She brought me a few great toddler books for my birthday (If you give a Moose a Muffin & If you give a Pig a Pancake...LOVE 'em!)...but I was also quite interested in what she was reading.

Then we went to the new Miguel's in Bangor to celebrate HER birthday! Sidenote: Mama & Daddy's first date was at the original Miguel's in Bar Harbor...they had dinner with Mary & Jeff Wallace. Mary performed their wedding service years later...Well...while we were dining at Miguel's in Bangor with Melissa...in walked Jeff and his family. WILD! Anyhow...doesn't this dessert look marvelous? It was...Y-U-M!

Miss you already Auntie Melis! ;-)

Happy Halloween!

Fort Knox

Ah. Behind again...It's been a while since my last post. October brought my first trip to "The Castle" (that would be Fort Knox to you adults...). A very cool place to explore. Mama had been there years ago but the Penobscot Narrows Bridge & Observatory were new to her. What a view! You can read about it at http://fortknox.maineguide.com/

The Penobscot Narrows Observatory is apparently the first bridge observation tower in the US and is the tallest public bridge observatory in the world (so says wikipedia!). And I've been there! The tower reaches 420 feet into the air. Like I said, it's cool! Come visit us in Maine and I'll take you there! ;-)
